Ty
Welcome back. Today, we’ve learned a lot about back pain, and heard some valuable strategies for prevention. What more can you tell us about low back pain?
Dr. O’Connor
You know, Ty, there is one more thing that I should mention. You know, it’s not uncommon for people with lower back pain to sometimes have stress, anxiety, or depression, especially if the pain is severe or lasts for a long time. Many people get anxious about back pain, especially if it doesn’t get better as fast as they expect. It’s frustrating for people when they are unable to perform their regular activities or are out of work because of low back pain. This frustration can add to their anxiety and depression. Keep in mind that it’s important to get treatment for these conditions as well.
Bill
That’s right. It’s important to be patient with yourself and your body, and to get help when you need it. The key thing is to keep moving, get on with your life, and know that in most cases, back pain will go away soon.
Ty
Well, Bill, Dr. O’Connor, thank you both for being here.
